Dean invited to the Croatian National Television (HRT)
On the occasion of celebrating the Human Rights Day, the HRT organised a panel on the fundamental international human rights legal instruments which deal with the rights of national minorities and their enforcement in Croatia, within the multinational magazine “Prizma”, Dean of the Faculty of Law in Rijeka Prof. Dr. Vesna Crnić-Grotić, who is also the Chair of the the Council of Europe Committee of Experts of the European Charter for regional and minority languages. Other panellists were Assist. Prof. Dr. Antonija Petričušić, member of the Advisory Committee on the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities at Council of Europe and Mr. Alen Tahiri, the Head of the Croatian Government Office for Human Rights and Rights of National Minorities.

Our students successfully participated in the Price Media Law Moot Court
Regional rounds of the Price Media Law Moot Court were held last week in Budapest. A student team from the Law Faculty of Rijeka participated in these. Its members were Mihovil Miholić, Gorana Morić, Martina Tičić and Laura Žeželić. The team reached the final match, where its members faced their hosts, the team of the Law Faculty of the Eötvös Loránd University. Although our students have performed well, they lost the match, winning the excellent second place in the final rankings. In doing so, the team qualified for the international rounds, which will be held next year in Oxford. Furthermore, Mihovil Miholić was declared the best oralist of the regional rounds, and the team received an award for second best memorials, bested only by the Eötvös Loránd team.
International Scientific Conference "Companies in a Changing Society - Towards a New Corporate Governance Culture"
On November 15, 2019, an international scientific conference titled “Companies in a Changing Society - Towards a New Corporate Governance Culture” was organized by the research team of the project „Legal aspects of companies’ restructuring – towards new corporate governance culture“ (uniri-drustv-18-43) and the Department of Corporate and Financial Law of the Faculty of Law in Rijeka. Invited speakers from Croatia and abroad, referents and discussants coming from different scientific fields participated at the conference - academic experts, practitioners and students. In the interdisciplinary atmosphere, various aspects of corporate governance transition from the perspective of both listed and closed/family companies were discussed in the first conference block, while the topic of the second was the management of companies' human resources in an innovative way, given the emergence of new forms of work and employment.
Our student elected as the Student’s ombudsperson at the University of Rijeka
We are honored to announce that the Assembly of the Student Council of the University of Rijeka elected third-year student of integrated law studies, Sven Sušanj, as the head of the Office of the student's ombudsperson and the Student's ombudsperson of the University of Rijeka. In this place, he succeeds Vita Jurković, also a #pravri student. We are pleased that Mr. Sušanj's election continues a legacy of our students who have performed the responsible duty of the student's ombudsperson and we expect the incumbent ombudsman to carry out his duties for the good of all students of the University of Rijeka.
Erasmus + Mobility Agreement signed with the Italian university Alma Mater Studiorum - Universita' di Bologna
The University of Rijeka signed the Erasmus + Mobility Agreement with the Italian university Alma Mater Studiorum - Universita' di Bologna, for the field of law. Students and Staff will be able to realize the mobility starting from the academic year 2020.-2021. Our teacher on the meeting of experts
One of our faculty members, Ass. Prof. Iva Tuhtan Grgić held, with Assoc. Prof. Gordan Stanković, had a presentation on Conversion, lawful investments, acquired rights and legitimate expectations. The presentation was the keynote element of a meeting of experts on the topics covered by professors Grgić and Stanković. The meeting was held in Rijeka, at the Hotel Jadran and encouraged an interesting discussion. We hope that its results will reach the ears of the legislator.
Head of the Government Office for Legislation at our Faculty
On 19 November 2019 the delegation of the Office for legislation of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, led by the Head of the Office Ms. Zdenka Pogarčić, visited the Faculty of Law in Rijeka. The meeting was the opportunity to talk about closer cooperation between the Office and the Faculty, in particular concerning the training of students and sharing the academic and professional experience between the two institutions.
