Conferences

The Faculty regularly organises and co-organises national and international scientific conferences at which the results of scientific research by the Faculty’s lecturers and assistants are presented and disseminated. The Faculty holds the annual Petar Simonetti Law Conference (Property – Obligations – Procedure) with the participation of many experts and scholars from Croatia and abroad. In the past five years the Faculty has hosted four Petar Sarčević International Scientific Conferences organised by the Department of European and Comparative Law in cooperation with reputable Croatian and foreign institutions. The Faculty’s lecturers regularly present their papers at conferences that are organised by the Jean Monnet Inter-university Centre of Excellence in Opatija, and within which there have been numerous international scientific conferences and several symposia for doctoral students in the period from 2010, when the Centre was established.

As part of the SEELS network, in 2014 the Faculty held the regional conference “Promotion of Scientific Research and Education on European Integration and Policy”. Faculty’s lecturers also participate as national presenters in world conferences of the International Academy of Comparative Law (IACL). The Faculty, as well as its departments, plan to keep organising scientific conferences, independently or in cooperation with other national or international institutions. To this end, the Faculty is taking all necessary measures to intensify the cooperation within the SEELS network and to organise conferences as part of the joint postgraduate doctoral study programme.
