4th Rijeka EU Sports Law Day held at our Faculty, June 10th 2019

On June 12th 2019 our Faculty hosted the international conference called “The Regulation of Football Agents” which was organised as part of the Erasmus + project “Promoting and supporting good governance in the European football agents industry”. After the first part of the introduction in which Professor Richard Parrish (Edge Hill University, UK) has given an overview of the Project’s outcomes, Mr. Jurica Vranješ, former Croatian national football team player and currently agent, has given his view on the current state of facts in the industry of players’ agents. The first part of the day than was concluded with a round table on “Arbitration” in which have taken part Professor Jacopo Tognon (University of Padova, CAS), Professor Fabio Iudica (University of Milano, CAS), Ms. Petra Pocrnić-Perica (NOC of Croatia, CAS), Mr. Georgios Elmalis (legal council before BAT) and Mr. Tomislav Kasalo (member of the FIFA DRC).  The round table was moderated by Dr. Andrea Cattaneo (Edge Hill University, UK).

The last part of the event, as a round table, has had the topic on “The Future of the Football Agents Regulations” and had the participation of Mr. Stefano La Porta (Italian FA), Ms. Tanja Peraković (Croatian FA), Mr. Mladen Čičmir (Slovenian FA) and stakeholders representatives Mr. Dejan Stefanović (World Players Association), Ms. Alexandra Goméz-Bruinewoud (FIFPro), Mr. Luka Ivančić (HNK Rijeka, European Clubs Association member club) and Dr. Roberto Branco Martins (European Football Agents Association). The moderator of the round table was Assist. Prof. Vanja Smokvina (Faculty of Law Rijeka) who in the name of the organisation and program committee concluded the conference.
